UDOP opens nominations for the CanaSauro 2026 Trophy

UDOP has opened nominations for the CanaSauro Trophy – 2026 Harvest, which will recognize up to 30 professionals from the bioenergy sector across seven categories. The awards will be presented on December 1 in Araçatuba (SP), during the dinner hosted by Koppert.

Which categories and criteria define the recognition for bioenergy professionals to be presented in December?

The recognition

UDOP – União Nacional da Bioenergia has begun the nomination process for the CanaSauro Trophy – 2026 Harvest, a recognition for professionals who stand out for their careers and contributions to the development of Brazil's bioenergy sector.

The award ceremony will be held on December 1, during the CanaSauro Dinner hosted by Koppert, at Quarta Avenida Eventos, in Araçatuba (SP). The ceremony is part of the closing program of the 9th UDOP Innovation Seminar, one of the leading technical gatherings discussing innovation in the sector.

Categories and nomination process

Nominations are made by a select group composed of UDOP directors and council members, professionals already recognized with the CanaSauro Rex title, and members of the organization's leadership.

In total, up to 30 professionals will be honored, with no fixed number of awardees per area, in addition to the presentation of the CanaSauro Rex title, a distinction that recognizes an outstanding career in the sector. The selection will consider merit, the relevance of the professional career and the contributions of the nominees to the sector, with no requirement of a minimum length of service.

Nominations are divided into seven categories: Agricultural, for professionals in the agricultural area of plants and distilleries; Management, for plant and distillery leaders; Associations/Government, for leaders or representatives of sector associations and public agencies; Cane Suppliers, for individuals who supply sugarcane to UDOP member companies in accordance with the criteria of the membership category; Corporate Governance, for professionals in management, communications, human resources, controllership, and occupational health and safety at plants and distilleries; Industrial, for professionals in the industrial area of plants and distilleries; and Researcher/Consultant, for researchers, consultants and academics with work relevant to the bioenergy sector.
