Córdoba's Ministry of Bioagroindustry shut down four sprayers in Tercero Arriba and General San Martín and interdicted 300 veterinary drug products in Córdoba city and Alta Gracia. With these operations, eight machines have now been targeted in recent weeks.
The Directorate of Inspection and Control of Córdoba's Ministry of Bioagroindustry shut down four more sprayers in the departments of Tercero Arriba and General San Martín for breaches of Provincial Law 9164 and its decree 132/05. In parallel, inspectors interdicted 300 veterinary drug products at businesses in Córdoba city and Alta Gracia that did not hold valid authorization or registration.
The procedures on application equipment were carried out to verify compliance with the regulations governing the use and application of phytosanitary products.
Provincial legislation requires that equipment and its operators be duly licensed and that applications have the corresponding Digital Phytosanitary Prescription, issued by a phytosanitary advisor.
With these four machines, eight sprayers have now been targeted by the operations of recent weeks. In mid-October, the province had reported the shutdown of two units in Elena; at the end of that month, two more in Alta Gracia and Lozada; and now four more in Tercero Arriba and General San Martín. In September, the inspection unit had already shut down a sprayer and a premises with a phytosanitary products warehouse in Canals and Río Tercero.
In the veterinary segment, the 300 interdicted veterinary drug products were detected at establishments in Córdoba city and Alta Gracia, following complaints. The procedures made it possible to identify businesses that did not have the authorization or registration required under provincial regulations; in addition, other establishments whose authorizations had recently expired were ordered to bring their situation into compliance.
The sale of these products is regulated by provincial laws 5142 and 6429. Among other requirements, businesses must hold the corresponding authorizations and operate under the technical supervision of a veterinarian. This is not the first time significant figures have emerged in this segment: in September, the Ministry itself had reported the interdiction of another 700 veterinary drug products in Río Tercero and Villa Santa Rosa de Río Primero, as well as preventive closures of commercial establishments.
