Colombo Agroindústria reduced its lost-time accident frequency rate from 4.49 to 0.94 between September 2024-August 2025 and September 2025-August 2026, a drop of 79.13%. The improvement is attributed to preventive actions, training and Semana S.
Colombo Agroindústria posted a significant change in its workplace safety indicators. Comparing the periods from September 2024 to August 2025 and September 2025 to August 2026, the lost-time accident frequency rate fell from 4.49 to 0.94, a reduction of 79.13%.
The result comes alongside an intensification of prevention, guidance and risk identification actions in operations. In the most recent period, 31,085 behavioral observations were carried out through the +Seguro program, in addition to 3,639 reports through "Comunique", an internal tool for reporting unsafe conditions.
Preventive efforts also included management inspections in the areas through Safety Tours, as well as nighttime management inspections, which broadened the monitoring of safety conditions in operations.
"The evolution of our indicators is the result of continuous work on prevention and awareness. Safety is built every day, with everyone's participation and, above all, with attitudes that always put life first," says Luís Marcelo Spadotto, CEO of Colombo Agroindústria.
Team training is also part of the prevention-oriented initiatives. During the period, 259 training sessions were held, involving nearly three thousand employees and totaling 26,278 hours of training.
The initiatives aim to keep safety present in the daily routine, broaden risk perception and encourage preventive behaviors at all levels of the operation.
In September, Colombo also held Semana S, a week dedicated specifically to prevention and accident awareness. The initiative brought together the actions developed by the company to keep safety in the spotlight and encourage safer attitudes in everyday work.
"The reduction in lost-time accidents, together with training, inspection, behavioral observation and identification of unsafe conditions, shows how far we have come in safety. That progress is the result of continuous work that places prevention and care for people increasingly present in the routine of our operations," Spadotto concludes.
