52 European pet food companies' annual revenue 2024

The European dog, cat and other companion animal markets grew in 2024, including the 52 companies in this list from Petfood Industry’s Top Pet Food Companies database. Mergers and acquisitions were a prominent force in Europe last year, as was the slow but steady rise in pet ownership.

Profitability in Europe’s pet food sector skews towards treats, according to the Fédération Européenne de l'Industrie des Aliments pour Animaux Familiers (FEDIAF, European Pet Food Industry Federation) 2025 Facts and Figures report. Dog treats, though constituting just 9% of volume, delivered 24% of total value in 2023, the most recent year for which data was available. Similarly, cat treats accounted for 3% of volume but generated 10% of value. Wet cat food showed balanced pricing and volume: 60% of both volume and value, while dry cat food comprised 36% of volume but only 30% of value.

Likewise, the European pet food supplements market may be poised for continued growth. Valued at US$247.8 million in 2023, it is projected to reach US$441.6 million by 2033, growing at an annual rate of 5.9 percent. The organic supplements segment alone is forecast to hit US$97.4 million by 2033.
